Sypnosis

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of the night their family was forever altered.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already-grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue loving her.

Warning: Spoiler Alert!!!

Ending Review:

So it's been revealed that Verity was just faking her injuries ALL. THIS. TIME. Lowen's suspicions turns out to be true after she planted a baby cam on Verity's room. Lowen caught Verity moved and told Jeremy. They confronted Verity and she told them the truth. Out of rage, Jeremy killed her with Lowen's help.

Months later after Verity's death, Lowen discovered a letter addressed to Jeremy where Verity explained that the autobiography she wrote was just a writing exercise in antagonists' point of view. She also wrote how Jeremy attempted to kill her when he discovered the autobiography the first time but he failed which leads her to fake her injuries out of fear that Jeremy might try to kill her again. The letter also states that she want to run away with his son and leave Jeremy behind.

So... Are you team manuscript or letter?

As for me, I believe that the manuscript was real for these reasons:

• In the letter, Verity states that she knows about Lowen and Jeremy making out. She had the chance to run away with his son when she locked them up in the guest room. Why didn't she take that chance?

• The letter was written after Lowen tried confront her that she's faking her injuries. Verity might be triggered and started writing the letter to make Jeremy the villain.

• Her abortion attempt. Her daughter's born with a scar.

• She could've write a note in the manuscript that it is only for writing exercise and shouldn't be taken seriously

• Jeremy tried to keep her around and even allowed Crew to be alone with her. If Jeremy really tried to kill her, why not do it for the third time?

• When Jeremy said that all is there is sex and the connection between him and Verity wasn't there anymore. Maybe they lost that connection when the twins were born.

• The letter leaves so much details to pin point all Jeremy's attempt to kill her. It seems like Verity wrote the letter to turn the tables around

Verity is a well-written book. I cannot put it down after reading the first chapter. This is very different from other CoHo's books which focuses on romance. Verity has suspenseful and twisted events which makes it more interesting.

Will I read it again? Yes!

Will I recommend it? Definitely!

So my rating is a magnificent five stars. I'll definitely add more CoHo books in my TBR ❤
